Some social talk.

I can't help but feel that I'm wasting my life away year by year. For the past few years, I was pretty much forced to be in Biochemistry because it's something my parents wanted me to do. Eventually, I became sick of it since it's pointless to be in a course which I have absolutely no passion for. I'm out of it now, so starting May, I'll be back in Computer Programming and Analysis. I don't care if it sounds like a less dignified course. It's something I've been wanting to do, and by God, I'll do it.

My social life had its ups and downs over the past several weeks. On one hand, my parents haven't been in good terms with each other because of some really trivial things. On another hand, My dad is currently on vacation for the next week or so and I'm having the most fun I can possibly have. I actually got a little drunk for the first time and I have no clue if it feels good or feels bad. Still, though, I'd like to drink either another shot or another bottle of Smirnoff. That shit's awesome.

Also, is it weird to be a student with three credit cards now? I've recently been approved for another credit card from CIBC, and so far, I haven't used it on anything yet (simply because I'm afraid I'm going to start impulse buying like mad).

Speaking of which, I ended up buying two things for my PC which turned out to be expensive as hell, but I can see them both being used for a really long time.

The first thing I bought was this baby.

A WD Velociraptor 300GB SATA HDD [WD3000GLFS].
This baby is fast as hell and transfer speeds are pretty fucking fast. I noticed it right away when the reformat (along w/ program installations) were much faster than usual. I hope the increased speed in this HDD doesn't mean more stress (and less life) though.

Second thing I bought was this.

A Hauppauge HD-PVR. This little guy is going to help me record footage at high-resolution (480i/480p/720p/1080i). I used to have a Adaptec Gamebridge to help me record stuff like this, but since it only accepted composite (red/yellow/white) connections, the resolution was pretty crap. The HD-PVR takes component, which makes it much more convenient for me.

There's probably one more thing I need to get, and I'm going to have to debate on that though, because I'm afraid adding one more device w/ a pass-through connection might create some display lag. I'll have to consult someone that specializes in this field before I proceed in buying a component selector (so then I can plug in all my consoles rather than switch wires on the PVR all the time).

I think I've said quite enough.
Oh, and to all Stepmania Liteblue users. 4.02 is underway. When? I'm not so sure myself.

Peace out.
